After my last blog, Memories,Sydney 1990, I was very pleased to learn that we were expected to travel in mid 1991 to England to attend the wedding of Dis brother Tim, to Lucy. I certainly wanted to experience more overseas travel so what an excuse. Plans were made. Extra holidays arranged so we could be away for 6 weeks. Plans on how Chris and Amy were to handle 6 weeks with out parents. Then the Read on...
Early in the morning, most of our group woke up to climb Kala Pattur, 5550m (18,209ft), which would give you great views of Everest and the other surrounding mountains at sunrise. It is the highest one can climb without a permit. Due to not dying to feel altitude sickness again any time soon, I opted to stay in bed a bit. A few of our group also opted to rent donkeys to take them up so left a litt Read on...
A flight LX 180 flew us on March 18 to Bangkok. One wonders how long the airline industry can sustain this situation. Nenad remembered reading an interview with the Chairman of Swiss saying that their budget until July 2021 is not losing more money than 2 million Swiss Franks a day !!! Courtesy of the Swiss tax payer. In Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport an army of staff expected the few passengers. T Read on...

I started yesterday with a bit of background on this important city, so if your memory is like mine, read it again. As my parents used to say when we were in a hurry, and I appeared to be elsewhere, Im not going to repeat myself ! Luckily for you, there is no implied punishment attached to this, and I dont think there ever was for me. It was just an often futile attempt to get me to snap out of i Read on...
Midway between Vientiane and Luang Prabang on the Nam Song River, Vang Vieng is situated amidst gorgeous karst scenery. Although for some fifteen years or so at the turn of the millennium the limestone hills, their isolated monoliths and associated caves, the patchwork of rice fields and profusion of meandering streams, were not its primary attraction. That lure was the abundance of drugs, happy Read on...
The train arrived in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg at 1552. By the time I arrived at the hotel, there was little time for anything besides a short walk and a bite to eat; however, as I was settling into my room, I heard patriotic music from the street below. Stepping onto the balcony, I saw several folks involved in some kind of ceremony across the street from the hotel at what I later learned is t Read on...
