We are down to the last day of our stay at Lake Tekapo and as we had hoped the dip in the hot tub on the deck at night has made our stay here very relaxing. We are pinching ourselves because we had found such a restful accommodation. There had been a bit more rain overnight but the prospects for a reasonable day without any further rain was on the cards which will ensure we get around the three c Read on...
Despite the large amounts of beer consumed the evening before, I woke up hangover free. We headed to a nearby noodle shop for breakfast. The food must have been passable, but I cant remember what I had so definitely not amazing. I was feeling a bit dehydrated, so the quest to get some water started when we left the shop. We found a small convenience store on one of the backstreets and stocked up f Read on...

So we wer up early this morning and decided to go to the funicular to see if it is running as it is a Bank Holiday Monday just like at home. Anyway, thank goodness it was working so we decided not to get a return ticket but a single and we would walk down. It is the first ever funicular that I have been on that was carved through rock so there is absolutely nothing to see apart from a tunnel. How Read on...
We had visited Cornwall several times and found adverts for Newquay at Bodmin, St Austell and Falmouth, but never had the time to visit there. We decided to visit Newquay for our short holiday between 19th and 23rd September 22.
