I posted some photos on FB. I had Centre Court tickets, as well as freedom to roam the grounds, much like Wimbledon and the US Open. Most tennis fans know that the French Open in Paris is played on clay courts. In fact, it is the only remaining Grand Slam event played on clay. Wimbledon in London is played on grass, while the Australian and US Open are played on hard courts. And it is my least fav Read on...
Wonderful day today, our last before we leave for home tomorrow so even better that the weather so kindly rewarded us with another absolutely perfect blue sky day. We decided to drive round the country roads to see where they took us. Past quite a few stone quarries which produce the lovely golden Purbeck stone from which many of the houses in the area are built. Then we came to Worth Matravers, Read on...

All good things to an end. It was finally time to say goodbye Barcelona. Goodbye to everything Gaudi, the Barri Gotic, Sobremeso (sit and relax, order some Pipas (sunflower seeds) with a nice glass of Rioja and watch the world go by). We began the day with an amazing self serve breakfast at Catalyna Atacha, what a delicious spread of culinary treats from Spain! I loved the fuet salami, the fresh bread with ovo and tomato salsa as well as the many varieties of hams and cheeses. Today is a sort of slow news day which probably sums up most days in Lytham St Annes (LSA). Breakfast turned out to be surprisingly good with plenty of choices on the menu. I started with Banana and Maple Syrup porridge and followed it up with the full English - bacon (two rashers) fried eggs (two) black pudding, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans and fried bread. All washed down with orange Read on...
