We got up and got ready for breakfast. Weve stayed at this hotel in 2019 and loved the breakfast. We were hoping COVID hadnt changed all that. We had 2 eggs on bread, beans, really good bacon, chocolate croissants, coffee, toast and tea. There was also cereal, fruit, and juice available. It was excellent.
Our goal today was to get to some shops near Buckingham Palace that were closed for Good Friday when we were here last. We also wanted to walk they Hyde Park and sit in chairs along the water. We never found the chairs, but did visit the pavilion which had a coffee shop/ restaurant and Toilets.
As we were walking, Marsha noticed her feet were swollen and her shoes were rubbing blisters. So we detoured to a pharmacy to get bandaids and take a break.
We noticed we were In the vicinity of a bakery we wanted to try, Peggy Porchens. We thought that would be a good stopping point for a cup of coffee and a snack. Along the way we walked through Belgravia District. It was all decorated with flowers and banners for a recent event. We loved the shops and the
We snagged an outdoor table at Peggy Porchens, looked at a menu, then asked to go inside. It was tough to pick a cupcake of cake slice without looking at what you were ordering. Everything looked delicious. I got a summer berry cup cake, Shealyn got buttercream with strawberries and Marsha got the raspberry lemon. It was go good to relax and not be on a dead run.
It was a short walk to the shops and it was so much fun to look at all the items. Since this was the year of the Queens Jubilee, there were lots of Jubilee items for sale. Many of them were really expensive so we were satisfied to just look.
We were going to see My Fair Lady, which was appropriate since we were in London. The show was awesome. I thought it was much better than the one I saw in New York City. The acting and singing was superb, and the sets were amazing. They even had a live flower cart in the lobby and a flower shops where you could
order flowers to pick up After the show. It was expensive. Shealyn and Marsha looked at an old fashioned folded hand fan and it was $85. When we looked the the ones at the show merchandise table they were only $10.
The kids at the merchandise table loved me. They lived that I knew so much about the show, that I liked their merchandise way better than that at the NYC show, that I could suing all the songs in the shirts, and that I bought so much stuff!
