We woke up at the usual kids alarm clock time, bright and early, as we have not quite adjusted to not having them around. We ordered room service for breakfast and relaxed by reading our books and enjoying the view. Our suite opened up to a patio with lounge chairs and a infinity pool that looked out to the ocean. The pool is a little cooler than the bigger pools so is a perfect place to cool off from the humid, hot sun. We put on some shoes and explored the resort to see what else there was and then came back for a swim in our private pool. Tory spotted a huge Iguana on the path in front of our room (see pics) and we heard that we might be able to spot some turtles at on shore to lay their eggs. The day was pretty hot so it was nice to have some time in our cool room. We ordered some tasty room service for lunch, Steves mushroom/mexican cheese quesadillas were different than what you get in the U.S.A. and very good.
some drinks from Coconuts called Coco locos hour. There was a bartender cutting open about 50 coconuts and pouring out the coconut water to keep for later, and the hundreds of palm trees at the resort are mostly covered with coconuts to pick from. The resort has some organized activities so Tory and Steve played blackjack for fun at a table with someone from Edmonton and a father and daughter from England. Of course, Tory won because she is so incredibly good at cards regardless of the fact that blackjack is a game of luck. As a prize, she won a bottle of tequila and a huge fake diamond that are good gift to take home to Rosie (The diamond, not the tequila.) From there, Tory went to her massage and Steve went back to the room for a nap. Her massage was one of the best she has ever had which included an hour of hydrotherapy and 2 hours of massage and facial. The hydrotherapy pool had some very powerful jets that were so good that we might try to go back again just for those!
beach as we found some hammocks to lay in for a little while before going back to the room to get ready for dinner. The restaurant this night was Vera de Mar that was an Italian Seafood themed menu, which between the other 4 restaurants menus there are about as many choices as there are on a regular menu at the Cheesecake Factory. Haven resort has nightly entertainment, like a cruise, that we went to next to watch a Studio 54 themed disco/Diana Ross singer and dancers put on a show. After the show, the dance floor opened up as only 1 person was dancing until Steve and Tory jumped up fearlessly since none of these people they would ever see again and it didnt matter how bad Steves dance moves were. More people joined once they saw Torys sweet dance moves and it was a really fun time to have a chance to dance since it was not something we had done in a long time.
