Well today started out good for me. I woke up in my separate room, they didnt want me in the room with Susan. I do miss her though. My room is only a couple of rooms away from Susan and we can wave to each other on the balcony. I first headed to medical for my PCR test, then took off. I masked up and headed to the bus for the waterfall and catamaran excursion that we paid for. Susans excursion is being refunded. On the way up to the waterfall, the guide kept saying, you might not see it and we dont have time to wait for the sun to burn off the fog. What??? We paid a lot of money for this. Well, when the bus arrived, it was still a bit foggy but you could see the waterfall and an interesting circle rainbow. I walked to all the viewing points and caught pictures. Right before I headed back to the bus, I peered over the side again and wow, it had all burnt off. I got a few good pictures. As we were driving out, the guide told us that in the winter the fall freezes very slowly In the bus, the guide told us why the roofs have ladders on them. No, its not to knock off the snow, but for the chimney sweep to use. She also explained to us why there are so many tunnels. The old road went around the mountain bend but constantly had avalanches. This way was shorter and safer. She also explained why the mesh was over the rock facings. Not necessarily to catch rocks but for the snow and ice to adhere to. Then when it starts to melt it doesnt fall off in one sheet. On we drove to the catamaran tour. We passed many orchards with apples, pears, and cherries. The trees were all stunted but covered with fruit. I didnt think they could survive the cold winters. Next she told us about the bridge we were passing, it is the only one in the world where you both enter the bridge from a tunnel and exit the bridge into a tunnel. One of the tunnels has a round about in it. We went on it. Now, this road we were on is one of their major roads in the east of Norway, yet at times, it is a single lane and at other times VERY narrow. We got to one spot where a truck on one side and our bus on the other side didnt move. Each daring the other to drive past. The bus finally relented. Of course our side of the road was the straight down the hill section. We made it. We arrived at the catamaran and boarded. I stayed way from everyone and only took my mask off for a selfie with no one around. By this time, I was starting to feel a bit off. I really didnt want to be around anyone. When the boat docked, I walked around for a bit thinking this might be the last time for the next few days. Well, I was right. I put my card on the reader to get back on board and they tell me to go straight to my room and call medical. Yep, the test the am came back positive. I thought Susan and I would then spend our time together but they want us apart. So I begin my quarantine and Susan has finished day 2. They are counting this as day 1 for me. Ill test again, probably on the 1st to see the level of Covid. Susan is doing well. She says everything tastes yucky because of the Paxlovid, Im just on aspirin. Mine feels mostly like a head cold. Nothing major so far.
