Since we have left our lake life, we have resumed our wandering from one familys house to another. We are certainly making up for all the winter months when we dont see our children for extended periods. We are loving being with all of them....just hope the feeling is mutual.
Before we had to leave the lake cottage, we were thrilled to meet up with our Tropical Palms friends, Jill & Bob. They were staying at a campground fairly close to Keuka Lake. We met at The Switzerland Inn on the Lake for a yummy lunch. It was terrific being with them again. They are so much fun. They have been traveling around New York State this summer. From here, they were heading to Buffalo and then Indiana. Safe travels, dear friends.
More of our families continued to visit us. Ryan and Amber arrived in a boat (one time with 2 boats) with their good friends. Lory stayed over several nights to assist us in the undesirable job of packing our stuff back up and getting it all up the cliff side. Thank God, for the dumbwaiter!! Lulu tried to help but with her limitations (no arms), she could
only supervise. The ducks and seagulls were well fed with some of our leftovers. We were to witness the and dump our septic tank...as well as the neighbor next to us. That was less than refreshing. Phewy. They had to pump all of it way up the cliff side. Thank, God, the pipe didnt break! Gusher! Yikes! On another day, Alan & Brittany came on the same day as Kim & Jim so it was fun and festive and fresh air smelling. We are so glad we decided to stay at a lake for these 2 weeks. So relaxing and enjoyable with everyone who joined us.
After we left the lake, We settled in nicely at Lorys house. Our grandson, Al, had his birthday on this day. 29 years old. Oh, where has the time gone? Lory had Jays aunt & uncle, Lani & Roger, join us so we could all sing Happy Birthday to Al in chorus. Brittany and Al had a gender reveal party. We werent able to attend but we got the word quickly. They are having a baby boy on Valentines Day. Sweet! Congratulation! Happy times!
us taking up residence at our son, Corys, house. We have been staying busy here. Cory built up his muscles by moving a huge wood pile and stacking it up for him. I call him Popeye now. I have been sorting a million boxes of his family items that had been moved up from N.C. Its so much more fun doing others work than my own...why is that? Inquiring minds want to know.
From Corys house, we went to Kim & Jims house. They took us out to dinner to a wonderful place called The Coal Tower restaurant. It is located on the Erie Canal in Pittsford. We walked along the canal to a magnificent huge barn where we bought scrumptious, homemade ice cream.....oh, to die for! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! SCREAM!!
We have a special up dealing with The Canal but you have to wait for our next blog to hear all about it. I like to keep you in suspense so youll be sure back to us. Go into your mode now. LaLaLaLaLa.
They wanted chicken wings so Cory bought a box of them the size of a suitcase. You want wings? You got wings! They were extremely tasty!
I busied myself by sorting out a small storeroom and some kitchen drawers. You would think Im Mrs. Neat. Yeah, right! Thats so far from the truth. There is something satisfying doing others work but not my own.
A special experience: we took Lulu for a photo shoot at a huge sunflower patch not too far from Kims house. The owner plants all these beauties just so folks and take pictures. How nice! Lulu was breathless and glowing. She felt her beauty blended in so nicely with the beauty of these golden flowers. I joined her for one snapshot.
Reverse direction. Now we are back at Corys house. He has such beautiful sunsets to watch from his place. On the way here, we stopped at our good friends cottage on Canandaigua Lake (another Finger Lake). Mike and Kathie have a gorgeous summer home here. They are such kind and generous friends. It was nice to see them again.
