Not quite as windy as yesterday but not far off. Colder and a few hail showers too. From Four Lane Ends to Pendleton, then Wiswell, Whalley, Mitton, TT triangle, Waddington, West Bradford, Chatburn, Worston and back to Four Lane Ends.
Our virtual journey would be leaving Thoissey to continue south on the banks of the Saone passing more and grand Chateau until we arrive in the small town of Villefranche sur Saone. Villefranche is the capital of the Beaujolais area.
Beaujolais is a historical province and region. It is located north of Lyon, and covers parts of the departments of Rhne and The region is known internationally for its long tradition of winemaking, and more recently for the Beaujolais nouveau. We stayed in a B&B on the edge of the town. We had an evening meal as it can be difficult to find restaurants in small places. The meal was simple adequate but was served with a bottle of very cheap German wine! We are not wine connoisseurs but we thought it was very strange to serve German wine in an area of French
