I had hoped to write our blog on Cinco de Mayo but I had so many wonderful birthday wishes to read and enjoy that there was no time. Thank you to each one of you who took the time and thoughtfulness to send me your wish. As you know, my birthday and Cinco de Mayo are on the same day...lots to celebrate! Well, as I keep aging and my numbers keeps increasing, Im not sure I really want to celebrate too much on an old lady. Im double 7s now....yikes! Lucky Lulu....she doesnt age at all.
As you know, we are in Red Bay, Alabama to have some work done on our RV. We are very happy thus far as to how well the process has been going. Of course, remember....Mr.Lucky is onboard. We had one planned appointment which was only for a limited period of time. That was at Bay Diesel....the place that works on the chassis. Bright and early, we sailed off for that appointment on Monday morning. They changed all the fluids and filters. a lengthy check list to note any on going or potential issues. That was okay. They changed SOME of
our clamps that looked bad but the rest they left. Remember we want all the clamps changed! They said our coolant reservoir was good for now but we would need a new one in a year. Of course, we want it changed now. You do recall our many coolant issues....dont you? Because our appointment was only a squeeze in, limited one....we would have to wait for another time. They put us on the list if there are cancellations. We do have a definite appointment on May 20th with them.....which we will keep IF we cant get in any earlier. The only issue we have that is a conflict, but one we can work around, is Cory is going to buy his Ford truck that he has been leasing at home. The transfer date is May 23rd. He called the dealership and he can just send them the money and it can be handled that way. So no big deal. You can remember....back in 2012....we spent a month here at Red Bay. Thus, a few weeks wont be anything.....we know where to go and what to do to keep us all happy and busy. Dont pack your bags and head home.
Whoops....we did have one incident that wasnt any fun. After Cory paid the bill at Bay Diesel, he promptly got in the RV and drove back to our campground. FYI: the route going back and forth is just on small, residential streets. Red Bay may be a city(I dont know) but the center of it is very small....we are located in the center area. Well, goody....he was back at the campground.....but where was I? I had been sitting in the car (we dont hook up for these short trips), working on my IPad.....waiting patiently for Cory in the Bay Diesel parking lot. Eventually, a serviceman knocked on my window so I would move the car (it was blocking the area). Sure....but wheres Bucky? No RV...No Buckaroo. Crap. I drove back to the campground. On route, I passed Cory in our RV going back my way! For goodness sake! I waited at the campground but MR. WHEREAREYOU never came. So back to Bay Diesel, I went. I saw an RV like ours in their lot. I went in both the office and service bay...yes,
Bucky had been there but left. I went to the familiar RV.....it wasnt even ours!! Now what? I headed back to the campground.....again, passing Cory in our RV on route. This time we stopped and hollered back and forth to meet at the campground....a pleasant, serene exchange. I got back there and again, waited and waited and waited for the fantom driver to show up. Eventually, he pulled our rig into its spot. Another pleasant exchange as we reviewed our sequence of events. Cory said he waved the paperwork at our car when he got in the RV to drive away. Like— did I see or know this with my head in a downward position working on my IPad? NO! He went back to the campground but I didnt show up so he drove back to Bay Diesel (the first passing of our ships). Then, I left to go back to BD (the 2nd passing of our ships). Enough....it got old real fast! Anyway, we have been together since. in a pleasant and serene manner.
