Last day. Decided not to waste it and got online to book some tickets for Doges Palace (€52). Really interesting place. Bought some list minute souvenirs including a gorgeous charm for Kirsten (€80). Jodie had to try one last piece of pizza from Venice.
Its scary but yet so cool and interesting, the in and as a result, San Marcos square is under water and its lapping at many of the streets. You can clearly see the issue they face as there hasnt been that much rain.
Okay, weve cut it a little fine, but were ok, starting to find our way around. Get changed, pick up our bags and off we head off. So sad.
We get to the terminal and get bus tickets (€32) and head to the airport. Were early! By the time we get to the checkout queue when it opens theres a line but its just not moving. We notice that the flight board says the flight is delated, so well miss our connection. We arrived at the airport around 2.30pm and we sat there until 7.30pm
that night. After much much much debate, anger, tears and confusion, we got a flight out to Dohar and will be put up for 24 hours. At least we may be. No one is really sure but we cant sit around the airport any longer.
There was us an another Australian couple that ended up arguing and were last to be processed because they couldnt find a reasonable solution. Anyway, off we go.
