I visited this shop on 30th May and found a number of highly valuable stamps, stamp albums and coins. Shop staff were wearing formal clothes. As instructed by London Literary Walking guide, I started the course from Embankment station. I walked through small alleyways, gone past Embankment Gardens, the building where Samuel Pepsy used to live and the building has been used for Royal Society of Arts before reaching main street, Strand. As expected, Union Jack flags were hanged between buildings on Strand. I found a very interesting shop, i.e. Stanley Gibson, the specialist stamp & coin shop and popped in. There were huge variety types of stamps with Royal family members, Commonwealth countries stamps and stamp albums and valuable coins. All the staff were wearing formal dress code, blazers and formal trousers and ties. I used to have someone who was very fond of Royal family and could have bought some for her, but shes not here anymore. I bought a set of nature featured mint stamps for us. I continued walking on the Strand, and walked past Somerset House, St Mary Church, disused Aldwych station, St Clements Dame Church, Royal Courts of Justice and St Church etc. Strand and Fleet Street were associated with life of various great authors – Samuel Pepsy, Charles Dickens, Samuel Richardson – and more importantly, there were a lot of buildings which were used by newspapers and Fleet Street showed reminiscent of newspaper offices which were run till 1980s. I also looked at Temple Church (not opened on 30/05/22) off Fleet Street and St Brides Church.
