We intend to stop at the Kittery factory outlets, and then make our way to the L.L. Bean factory in Freeport, Maine.
Stopping for gas in Wrentham Massachusetts. 35.007 gallons at $4.999 cents a gallon for a total sale of $175 US.
Once we reached Kittery outlets, we discovered that they are spread across a great many blocks. We park the RV, and Shelley rested a little bit with Maggie while I went on ahead to check out the Barbour, and Orvis outlet stores. The selection to choose from was ‘okay, but the sizing availability and pricing made it not as sweet a deal as it used to be a number of years ago. I can remember the relish of delight when shopping in the ‘States because the selection and pricing (even with an exchange rate) were so good. Not any longer.
Shelley joined me over at J Crew, and we checked out a few more of the shops and then decided to make our way to Freeport. So back on the highway we went and we made it to Freeport and found
The hosted us for much of the way to Bangor, Maine. A very long, bumpy, and boring highway it was. The time just seemed to drag on and on and on.
Arriving in Freeport, we made our way straight to the LL Bean parking lot. Well, one of them anyway. LL Bean of several buildings all dedicated to either ‘retail or ‘home or ‘ski/biking etc.. HUGE place. The stores are all spacious and A strong selection of both ladies and mens casual attire and outdoorsy stuff. I love LL Bean.
This factory store and the surrounding stores in area are well for a nice long weekend. Thats some thing that Shelley mentioned she would like to do sometime. We found several items between us and made our purchases and now were on our way to a grocery store; Shaws, and then on our way to the campsite 2 hours and 40 minutes up the road.
The Hadleys Point Campground in Bar Harbor, Maine is located at the very tip top of the island. The campsite is well run and tidy, tight
in space between us and our neighbours, but nice. Were located near the showers and office area. Theres a pool here and laundry is on the list of things to do today. We have water and power hookup here, but dumping is located at a site as you leave the campsite, or, you could book the Honey Wagon for $12.00, and they around and empty your black and grey water tanks for you! We opted for that option since our tanks were getting full. That gives me a little break from it.
Its undecided whether well pull up stakes and drive closer into town to walk around. Its raining right now, so it might be an inside type of day.
