Eventhough it was short,I am more than satisfied to explore this beautiful hispanic carribean country.
I arrived in Puerto Plata by plane and stayed in Sosua for a couple of nights. Then, with a help from a local friend,we drove the countryside from sosua going to the capital,Sto. domingo for half day.It is a roadtrip that you will enjoy because of its scenic routes. We passed town after town, stop for on each town name lettering landmark (like most do),dug in a cheap snacks on each stop overs and feast our ears on spanish musics while on the road.
I reached Sto domingo the same day we left Sosua.I booked my hotel inside the colonial zone where i can explore and walk around the area for the next day all by myself.
Restaurant, shops and bars are inside the zone in an old settings.I saw varieties of street performers and visitors were packed that day.Just few steps from my hotel were a group of motorcycle riders each offer a day tour around the city, just outside the colonial zone.I took one and visited the
three eyed national park which is an underground lake on the heart of the city, the colombus lighthouse and chinatown.
The price is one of the things you will love when visiting Dominican republic. It is relatively to others.Their currency is Peso.
