I didnt think I would be in quarantine for the rest of my life, but I did worry that I might emerge from it with a terminal case of inertia. I wondered if I would ever travel again, or would anyone for that matter. Perhaps it would be time to retire my travel blog. But when my friend Adele called and asked, Iceland? my inner therapist gave me a sharp nudge and I agreed.
I thought of it as a kind Read on...
Today was THE most exciting and bestest day we had. I guess it was the climax of such an epic trip. Today, we swam with Whale Sharks.
We chose Ocean Eco Adventures, they seemed more eco friendly and onboard they had reusable everything and reef friendly sunscreen, They also used a flylite plane to ‘spot the whale sharks and this was handy in being able to have multiple swims with them.

Waking up to the view we woke up to is a treat! And we had breakfast at the hotel today too. Not a very good breakfast, true, but it included coffee and tea, mandarin juice, and fried egg and toast, so better than nothing. Besides, we ate on the main balcony overlooking the view! And once we left the B&B our first stop of the day was hour long Thai massage in Nan. Just what the doctor ordered! We Read on...
Last December, 2019, I had to push the issue to get a free map of the Texas State Railroad at the Palestine RR depot. Then I asked the location of the North Pole (Texas); and they answered that the North Pole location was a carefully guarded secret. I took that as a challenge for me!
From Rusk, Texas I drove West on US Hwy 84 to the Neches River leaving Cherokee County into Anderson County. I too Read on...
Continuing my little blog series about the five biggest islands of Japan (because coronavirus means I havent been able to go anywhere else for ages), here is Shikoku.
Is Shikoku deserving of its own blog seeing as I only visited twice during the 13 months of living in Japan? Yes, because its really nice and most tourists apparently skip it.
My favourite means of travel around the Japanese archip Read on...
For the next two days, we cycled the back country roads outside of Cambodia, to see the local life and experience more food stops! When we left the floating village, thankfully we did not have to cycle along the long long levee, and instead got a ride in the support van. We stopped at the village near the entrance to the park and visited the local market, where there were many vendors selling frui Read on...
