Super day out today. Apologies for rather a lot of photos but we went to so many super places its too hard to chose what to show here so ended up with an overload. I highlighted Issigeac on the map as yesterday as a lovely village to visit though it is most famed for a superb Sunday market and this was not Sunday. Then circled 2 more places along the route and off we went. Issigeac first. No mar Read on...
To make its grand vin, or best wine, a top Bordeaux chteau will blend together only its very finest lots of wine, usually from the most vineyard plots and the oldest vines. What happens to all the other lots? In many cases, the chteau makes a second wine, which will have its own brand name and its own distinct label. (Its important to note here that a second wine is not the same as a Second Growt Read on...

After a good nights sleep, another day begins without fanfare. A few hunters left way too early, so we stayed in bed. This is not a working vacation. As usual, the chef prepared an awesome breakfast. Eventually, the chef even got dressed. This is one major advantage of RVing: bedclothes are just fine when you dont even have to emerge. After a while, we took another little stroll around the park. The sole purpose of this trip is to see Polar Bears. The trip over to Norway was reasonably uneventful, but the meal on the SAS flight was easily the worst we have ever had. We were taken to an airport hotel at which nothing was happening so we hopped on a train into Oslo and after much walking found a nice restaurant and then came back to the hotel to meet fellow travellers in the bar. The follow Read on...
I had several housekeeping items on the London agenda. I had been watching the Iceland weather and saw that the days had been cool and windy and the evenings had been down right brisk and windy. I went shopping again for some sturdier footwear, heavy socks, gloves and a stocking cap. I also needed to update all the tour information since I really hadnt even looked at the Iceland trip since I left Read on...
As planned, we were up at 4.00am this morning, threw on some clothes and made our way up to the roof of the motel. Bernie set up the tripod and camera and pointed it towards the Milky Way. Our stop here in White Cliffs was specifically planned around the new moon so that the sky would be as dark as possible to photograph the Milky Way. Were not sure what time moonrise and moonset were, but we coul Read on...

And that refers mainly to the weather. Of course, the food in India was also hot. But thats true regardless of what month of the year it is so no need to point that out. When we left Sweden we had a general idea of where we wante Read on...

The lockdown has now eased to allow overnight stays. Hotels have opened up. Pubs are allowed to have indoor drinkers. Attractions and cinemas can with limited numbers. However, the Spring weather has been shocking. Hospitality has had a slow from the long hibernation. The most hardy and desperate of drinkers must have winced about sitting outside in the cold and damp just to savour a pint. There Read on...
