I occasionally post things on the Facebook page entitled ‘The Reading and Thames Valley Area Memories of Another Day. I am nostalgic for the pubs of my youth in Reading U.K.; I vividly remember the pleasure of drinking fine beer in congenial surroundings with my friends.
I can think of no pub that has gone through as many name changes as The Hope and Bear, Cemetery Junction, Reading. It used to Read on...
Back at the tropical ranch, our routine is beginning to settle in somewhat. Still lots of chores to do but we can take our time. We have lots of that. The best part of the day is morning coffee time when up to join us for a cup of joe. It is so good to be back with our friend again. Art was the overseer of our RV while we were with our family up North. He did a super job....just like everything he Read on...

The first 2 were scuttled almost immediately once the pandemic hit and #4 is still in doubt. But the third trip was 5 weeks in the South Australian outback, and I was determined to make it happen. In July, South Australia Read on...
I honestly would like to go back to Dali and have a longer opportunity to look around. Our day started with an opportunity to photograph the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple. This was done at a distance, time did not allow us to visit the temple. Some vendors were selling objects and nick nacks primarily made from the local stone. The patterns within the stone were fascinating.
We then proceede Read on...
Its Mothers Day, but there are no or for Issy. Our not so kind hosts (refer previous entry) need us to move apartments this morning. Weve been told we have to be out of this apartment by 10am on pain of death, but apparently we cant get into the second one, several kilometres away, until 2pm. So it seems we‘ll be temporarily homeless. Our hosts keep sending us emails asking us for feedback. I Read on...
We woke up this morning and ate breakfast, then headed to the port talk. Oh, my again, this is not Viking. The lady running the talk did not know anything.
