Today we got up, ate breakfast, packed the suburban and drove down to the falls. We found parking at Queen Victoria Station Gift shop for only $10 for an hour. It was an easy walk to the falls. We took pictures, struck up several conversations, watched the Maid of the Mist boats and bought souvenirs.
It was a travel day to get us from Niagara Falls to Richfield Springs, NY (near Cooperstown). We Read on...
Day 67 - When I started walking on Day 1 I set off on a lonely road . A road that I did not think would take this long to travel . I had a plan to walk the entire village . I wanted to find interesting things and for the first few months I did walk new road , found new things and enjoyed the walking. At the end of March I walked to the sound of the morning chorus and the growth of all those Spring Read on...
I wanted to start off on Route 50 in style, show it who was in charge. Instead of just going down George Mason, getting on at the Unitarian Church and grinding through 15 stoplights to exit the Metro area, I climbed onto I 66 and headed West, figuring Id pick up the route where the riding would be fun. But the roads got the better of me. is under constant reconstruction these days. Im used to rid Read on...
Sunday: Went for a hike along 6 mile creek to a small waterfall. I say small but it would probably be a main attraction and large waterfall in any other region 😊 It was pretty warm and the water was very appealing. Unfortunately I didnt remember until today that I got rid of my water sandals in Miami back in March due to being super and I never replaced them. Copper also is not a water dog. I s Read on...
My social life was zero because of the pandemic restrictions. Being fed up, I decided to visit familiar Swindon. In a flash, I realised a school friend lived another mins train ride from Swindon. A tight trip to capture three locations at one go. I had booked the fastest train so I spent minimum time in the train itself to a max 45 mins. The trains and stations were pretty empty.

Yes, it sure rained last night, judging from the huge and deep puddles, and was still doing so this am. So we got to poke around the room in the early hours – including doing some laundry (there are laundry rooms on every other floor of the building).
The locals made it sound like today would be dreadful, but it cleared off and, while the winds were still up from the wrong direction, it has be Read on...
On the eve of the 2022 World Series: From 2008: Fall is a great time of the year for sports fans. College and pro football are the big draws. But it is also time for the Fall Classic, the Major League Baseball World Series, a uniquely American event that has no equal in the world. As a kid, the games were rarely on television, and certainly not in prime time. I was fortunate to get to attend sever Read on...
We drove to the East half of the Saguaro National Park, again getting there before it opened. It was CROWDED with Guess they try to get it in before the heat of the day. We did a 1 miles hike out to a lime kiln ruin and a mile back, and saw just one sparrow and 2 small unidentified birds, possibly gray vireos. All in all we preferred the other half of the National park. We are very grateful for Read on...
I have to write the day of the week in these notes, because here the days are so different from at home. The weekend is Thursday and Friday, so Sunday is an ordinary weekday in every respect.
Today I ventured off on my own. My objective was to see a museum in the restored house of a former, beloved leader. Except, the taxi took me to the Dubai Museum . It was wonderful! What I took to be the whol Read on...
