Yes, it sure rained last night, judging from the huge and deep puddles, and was still doing so this am. So we got to poke around the room in the early hours – including doing some laundry (there are laundry rooms on every other floor of the building). The locals made it sound like today would be dreadful, but it cleared off and, while the winds were still up from the wrong direction, it has been a lovely day. We checked out our Tres Trapi place (where we saw Hungry Boy turtle) and the waves were crashing over the rocks! We then stood and watched the kite surfers and wind surfers enjoying the winds at Hadicuri. Then we visited the Holiday Inn, where Tom and Amy had stayed about 30 years ago when they were here their one time. Fascinating to see the aerial photos of the hotel – there were no buildings nearby at all – no shopping precincts across the way. No hotels. Now its fully built upon all over that area. Off to see the Natural Bridge – which collapsed in 2005 evidently, and the baby one. The waves were NOT crashing on that coast like usual, which is as expected with the switching of directions of wind. We saw many ATV and other excursions – covered in mud!!! That does not look like fun to us. Ate lunch at the Kitchen, where you buy quite a huge variety of foods cafeteria style and by the pound. Except for a few odd choices, it was all yummy – from Peruvian ceviche and marinated mushrooms to grouper to bami (noodles) to salads. Prices have gone up, but still reasonable. And the tres leche cake was to die for. We split one piece 3 ways. We discovered from server Rosemary that Ronald no longer works there. As he had hoped, he has set up his own catering/fast food business. We should see both Rosemary and Ronald at the church Sunday – if we can find it!!! Ronald is the man we met last year who invited us to church – and we did pretty well with our months of Spanish. The service will only be in Spanish. At 8 and 11. We asked Rosemary which she will attend? Both, plus the one in the evening. where Amy found a good selection of goodies. They did away with their type things however; it used to be a good place for souvenirs. After a short rest we ended up in the pool with our Brown Ladies. It was actually cool enough that we preferred being in the water to being out in the air when wet. Our goodbye dinner was at Moomba Beach, which we chose pretty much at random, and it ended up being great – the food was good, especially Amys skewer of beef and vegetables (photo), and the live entertainment was a singer who had won the Latin Grammy contest (well check that out) – he could sing anything, both low and high notes.
