Travelling with public transport in United Kingdom is hard work. Indeed, I had explored trains, buses, hired cars and tour operators to visit Durdle Door (The only natural heritage of England) from Hayes Town but all were hopelessly costly, time consuming and not worth the penny.Hence, when a hiker at Little Britain Lake, Iver said she was planning to travel to Durdle Door, I accepted the offer to Read on...
An absolutely excellent idea to visit Chinon, too delightful a town to be missed and really surprised that we have managed to miss it out up to now, given the many weeks, months even we have spent in France over the years. The sky was cornflower blue when we woke and stayed that way all day. Summer has arrived with a vengeance. No hesitation risking suntop on a day like this. We took the road no Read on...
I turned on New Mexico Hwy 567 and drove to Carson, NM. I think that town was named for Kit Carson. They have an active post office. I had to stop and check out this old antique car body. I dont know, but I think it is a model A Ford. With no stop signs it was quick to get on to BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land; and a very fun but careful drive down the dirt road into the Rio Grande Gorge. Aft Read on...
Today we hiked over 9 miles at Chapel Beach. Most of the walk was level, but a portion was very muddy. Luckily along the walk we were able to stop at Chapel Falls. It was a stunning place to rest. Chapel Beach felt like a piece of Heaven. As soon as you approached the beach from the woods you could feel the cool breeze. The first view is from above looking down into the blue green endless lake. H Read on...
I dont know if its my age or just moving around so much but some days when I sit down to write this I have to stop for a second and think about where I was when I woke up. I do remember I had peanut butter on toast and yogurt with raspberries and nuts since it was a travel day. I also put a bunch of water in the holding tank so I didnt have to connect a water hose at my new location. Its supposed Read on...
Our Highgate Literary Walk on 2 May finished at Waterlow Park – we liked its beautiful scenery of the park – and we decided to visit there on 9th May. We strolled through main ponds, looked at waterfowls, aquatic plants and explored the park in the sunny afternoon. We found the park was situated on the hill; after climbing up towards Highgate Village, it offered breathtaking views of central Read on...

I have always loved visiting our nations capital, Washington, DC. Last spring was my first visit with the new President. It was not pretty (post trump), with security and fencing surrounding both the White House, and Congress. The Smithsonians were still closed. But now, I hope DC is back to normal, though we are now in the middle of an awful war. I guess we hit the trifecta of trump, covid, and w Read on...
Today we embarked from Missouri to Iowa. It was only 167 miles but took almost 4 hours due to most of the drive was all rural backroads. We were very happy to see the campground in Winterset, it is a city park in a quaint little town just south of Des Moines. We setup and left right away so that we could take the Madison County Covered Bridge tour. There was a total of 6 bridges all originally bu Read on...
