The stats, the numbers, everything just keeps going up. How many cases of Covid in Cusco, in Peru, in the world? How many people have died? How many people have lost their jobs? How many people have slipped back below the poverty line after recently working their way out of poverty? How long have we been dealing with this virus? Are there any numbers, anywhere, that are going down?

We were up early to get to the snorkeling boat by 9:30. Lots of people on this boat – like 50 – and it was all snorkelers. A bit like the party boats in Aruba – with less beer. The crew was very nice. We went to Alligator Reef with Sundance near Robbies on Upper Matecumbe Key. Visibility was excellent. Depths were At that depth one cant see the tiny fish and recognize them, but there was en Read on...
I didnt sleep well last night. Im sure my subconscious was going over all the things left to do in the morning despite my best efforts to pack up as much as possible before bed. An easy breakfast of PB on toast and a dish of yogurt with raspberries makes for minimal dishes left in the sink for the evening. Water hose, electric cord and drain the holding talks was about all there was to do but I st Read on...
After feasting on the view of Florence from Piazzale Michaelangelo, it was time for dinner. We proceeded to Impruneta, a village in the surrounding hills noted for its terra cotta pottery. It is now more of a Florence suburb. There, we enjoyed a Tuscan Dinner at Ristorante I Tre Pini. The restaurant is located out from town, some distance beyond the Piazzale Michelangelo scenic overlook. Quite a p Read on...
We took the train to Amberley and were told there would be a cab waiting for us. Well, there wasnt. We called the castle and email but to no avail. Finally, we just called a cab and a bit later a women drove up to pick us up for the drive to the castle. We could have walked but, it was dark with no street lights and no apparent sidewalk. It was only on the way back to the station that we saw the Read on...

There were two really cool exhibits there: one was the leg of a dinosaur and the other a rea Read on...
The Land of Hope and Glory. It certainly doesnt feel like it at the moment. The heavens had opened, as we arrived in the Cathedral city of Worcester some 6 hours after we departed from Bristol and The Well Hung Lover. The M5 hadnt really been that bad. We had stopped off for a socially distanced family gathering on the outskirts of Cheltenham. My sister has long since resided in this affluent corn Read on...
Im up had brekkie, its brekkie if I make it and its muesli, banana and yogurt with some coffee. Its breakfast if someone else makes anything! Made a cup of tea for Lee, she doesnt call that brekkie or breakfast as its really only a precursor to starting to wake up. Then its off to another walking tour. different itinerary but same sort of deal. This one concentrated significantly more on the old t Read on...
The Bondi to Manly Walk is a coastal and walking track between Australias two most famous surf beaches, Bondi Beach and Manly Beach. I have not been able to join Elizabeth on all sections of the walk but was glad to be able to join her on the 10th section she had made starting at Shark Beach and yes that is a shark net in the photo.
The entire length of the Walk is 80km and todays section was mo Read on...
Many of you ask how I travel, mostly solo these days. Sheri and Mike seem to mastered the couch potato movement in all of its pandemic glory. But for me, I would rather go, like Eddie Aikau, only I translate it to Gerry would go. Many of you ask about how I go about making these trips. Some are set in stone before I go, some are done on the fly when visiting new and unknown places. And some with o Read on...
