I took the ferry from Vangsnes to Dragsvik apparently via Hella lol. Its direct but you have to get off in Hella and turn around so that youre facing the right way on the boat. Fair. The fjord was gorgeous this morning - 1/3 was in the blazing sun, 1/3 was under a storm cloud and the other 1/3 was sunny but with super low cloud cover. First time on a car ferry here - I love that everything is done with the AutoPass - its this tag on your mirror/dash and all the tolls, ferries, everything is just scanned automatically. Short ferry ride done, off to Gaularfjellet! Wasnt too sure what the view would be like with the cloud cover but thankfully it cleared up. Lol, that was a drive. Twice I had to back up to let trucks go by - once was my bad, I misjudged and thought there was another inlet ahead I could pull into. Nope lol. The other time was just bad luck - depending on the exact timing and curves etc you dont always see them until its too late. All that was just on the way to Gaularfjellet - but the drive was worth it along the fjord, so pretty. The road up to Gaularfjellet just had me laughing. People are FLYING on that thing - some parts are wide enough for 2 cars but some arent. So much luck involved with timing here lol. Thankfully it wasnt overly busy, but def more down than I saw going up. The view is spectacular from above though. They built this cool platform that sits out for a photo of the road/valley and they have these two staircase platforms too for the same thing. It wasnt too busy when I arrived, so I happily sat and had my sandwich. It was pretty nippy out - youre up in the mountains again (hi snow!) but nice enough that a long sleeve shirt is relatively fine. From there I headed off towards Forde, an actual city if you to the past few days. I jad a few photo stops on the way, including at Likholefossen where some sheep took me on an adventure haha. They started walking along the boardwalk, I was doing other stuff taking pics, but then I caught up with them still on the boardwalk. Silly things. The waterfall/rapids in the area are a lovely blue, as like most water here. Back on towards Forde - stopped at a little bakery and loaded up on idk what the pastries are called, but theyre yummy. And then I headed into my guesthouse bc time for some laundry while its sunny and I can somewhat dry things!
