Took CK Shuttle again from Cesky Krumlov Czech Republic to Passau Germany. Passau is right on the border of Czech Republic, Austria and Germany at the confluence of three rivers. The Bavarian mountains surround the city and create a very rural area dominated by tourism and logging. This is the city where we connect with our river cruise to Budapest. We arrived two days to settle in and get a feel of the city and do a couple of weeks of laundry. The main sights were the bishops house and St Stephens cathedral. The cathedral is a mixture of Gothic and Baroque. With almost 18000 pipes, it is the second largest organ in the world behind the Mormon church in Salt Lake city. It was interesting going down the Danube through the series of locks as we were lowered this 433 ft long ship down several feet to the river below the lock with inches to spare on both sides. Coming into Linz was gorgeous. Also, Viking surprised us with a beautiful desert after dinner to help celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary.
