Well yesterday was a quiet one we just walked to the lake etc and took it easy so decided to give you all a day off from reading my blog.
So next day we set off to Saint Emilion and Goose was back on form using the map and also his trusty Sat Nav but to be honest until the last bit we were on not bad roads. We stop for diesel and Goose gives me 20 euros to get a coffee - I think if I need 20 euros for a coffee they can go and take a run and jump. Anyway the coffee is from a machine and you needed to use a card so I decided that this was a no no. So I give the money back to Goose who decided to put it with another 20 euros in his man bag with the mobiles. Well I just thought that is a bit stupid as when you get the mobiles out that money out with it - now I had a choice
We used another France Passion site but this time on a Chateau in between the grape vines. This time the site is a vineyard and it even had EHU for 5 euros for the night so why not we agreed we could charge up all our devices and the fridge will keep cool - still not worked out how to put the fridge onto gas - hope one of the others we will be meeting in a few days who have the same type of motorhome will be able to help with this one.
We strolled into Saint Emilion past a number of Chateaus vineyards; it is absolutely amazing seeing all the grapes. It is picking season so we saw lots of people picking grapes. I must admit it does not look an easy job but it pays the bills.
We stopped for a meal and I had a glass of yes you guessed it red wine - it was quite nice as normally I am a white wine drinker.
After a wonder around the town and yes you guessed it a walk around the church we decided to get back as we have a wine tasting later on at the Chateau where we are staying in their grounds. Just before we start walking back I say lets stop and get a coffee - you remember I chose b - keep stum - wrong decision as you guessed it he lost the 40 euros whilst pulling the mobiles out of his man bag! Well you cannot let an opportunity like this get away without saying I knew I chose the wrong option and mentioned it a number of times whilst walking back to the motorhome - also that has gone in the bank of Paula to bring up when I am in a tight spot - a girl never has enough ammunition in her bank!!!!
a few bottles of wine. We also found out a little bit about Saint Emilion wine. There are 800 wineries around this area and only 18 produce Premier Grand Cru which is not a lot out of 800. There are a number of couples and families staying and mostly German; we are again the only English. We do not seem to be seeing many people from England if I am honest. We are off to Bergerac next so going to be careful as normally there are murders which Bergerac has to solve - okay I know that was in Jersey but hey ho the name is still Bergerac!
Well since purchasing the motorhome I have been keeping a log of all our nights away and the campsites and the pros and cons and wow we have finished our first book so the next one beckons. It is great to look back on where you have been as getting to a ripe old age you forget these things really quickly. I can even forget what I went upstairs for at home ha ha.
