Sunday morning - Day 85 - Accept everything just the way it is - Miyamoto Musashi. That was what I ripped off my calendar this morning. Today was another of those dank grey old days . Just the same as yesterday. It was hard to feel that I wanted to accept everything just the way it is. When the sun shines you feel better . When the weather is not pleasant then it is a whole different thing . I dont know about you but the longer the lockdown goes on the harder it seems to accept it. I know it is for my own good but somehow at the back of my mind I feel enough is enough . I want life to return to something like normal . And that seems as if it is taking a long time back . Tomorrow the shops open - we wont be going out. Shopping is not that important .
So what happened today . Not a lot . A message from the GP suggesting that we all need to think about cancer . Covid 19 has taken over and the surgery are getting in to see
the doctors . The illnesses are still there but are people afraid to go to the GP or go to the hospital . The message was check yourself , any moles , anything changed . If so get into the surgery asap. Then a second message - watch out for the flu injection clinics . They will be available to us from September . Life was going on in the background.
It was a quiet day after the riots of yesterday. Is it just me or have the government stopped doing daily sessions telling us numbers and answering questions? Another day of low deaths . Down below 50. No doubt the numbers will be back up tomorrow but we are going in the right direction .
After breakfast I forced myself out. My walk had to be done and done in the morning early. The forecast was for heavy rain later . My walk took me down very quiet Birken Lane . Quiet because it was Sunday . I dont think I saw anyone on my way out as I climbed Bole Hill . I stood for a while in the quiet . By a gate looking over
the fields. It did not feel like summer at all. Our lives have changed . Would we ever get back to a normal life ever?
On my way home two young girls ran on their early morning run. They chatted to each other . They headed up where I from . Apart from them I was on my own most of the time .
By early afternoon the thunder and lightening and heavy rain had arrived in Wales . Friends on Facebook told me about the downpours . We had to wait two hours before the rain moved across the country to us, When it did the heavens opened . The rain ran down the road looking like a river . The garden flooded . The thunder rumbled . The lightening lit up the sky . For once we could almost have been in Europe where the storms are more spectacular. This went on for some time . So what did we do to pass the time - binge watched What we do in the shadows A mockumentary about three four vampires living on Staten Island . What we do in the Shadows - how did we miss this first time round . The storm might have raged outside but we were enjoying hours of TV catch up.
