Days 119 and 120. Saturday we watched the qualification for Motor GP. It is not a normal Motor GP . Then it never was going to be normal . . Two GPs one after the other in Spain. No crowds. Masks . A GP without an audience . It lacked any kind of atmosphere. Then there is F1. Masks, no crowds and two races in Austria. One called the Austrian Grand Prix and the second the Styrian GP. Two or three people sitting on a grassy bank watching proceedings . Is this the new normal? Walking as exercise . Is this the new normal? Will folks continue walking when things get back to normal? Who knows? So many questions went through my mind as my feet walked their walk. It feels like there is less to write about. We cannot visit anywhere. And I have forgotten what the weather was like on Saturday. Each day feels the same as yesterday and the day before . Perhaps that is the new normal. Sunday - only a day left before I can try to book a swim. Booking swimming is the new norm. Not having a shower at the pool is a new norm . Being able to only book a day at the time is odd . It will be good though to get a swim in. It will make a change from all the walking . I set off and walked the same roads as normal . I have seen our village through Spring , Summer and now heading towards the end of Summer . Whoever would have thought that Covid would change our lives forever . My walk took me down the main road . The house building is now in full swing . Building sites that were quiet a couple of months ago are now in full swing . Who wants and needs all these houses ? Will they end up empty as jobs are lost ? Will there be a round of repossessions as the homeowners lose their jobs? We have been there before and it looks like we will be there again. Home in time for a coffee . Home and time to go on the internet and search out the beautiful villages of France. A holiday plan on . We need the sunshine . We need some hot weather . It has to be the south of France . Hopefully the virus wont spike again before we leave . Only a week left in July . We are counting down . We cannot go anywhere yet but it is not stopping us thinking about our next holiday. . The new windscreen fitted a few weeks ago in Gabby has a problem . The fitters obviously ordered the wrong screen . The reversing mirror is in the wrong place and the Remis blinds will not close properly . A phone call made and the fitters back on Tuesday to look at it . And then we had our first viewer for our house and then the second . We felt not particularly hopeful with either of them. They made the right noises but then they always make the right noises. Time will tell but we are expecting nothing . When you take someone round you get a feel or them. They leave an impression . But taking someone round the house under Covid is a strange experience . Before the viewers arrived they were vetted. Had they got their house for sale? Had they sold their house ? They were sent guidance and had to read it . We received the same . We were asked if we had any inclination that we might have Covid . We were warned that if we caught it in the next few days we had to contact the estate agent and tell them . They would then contact all the viewers so that we all could isolate ourselves for 14 days . The windows had to be opened . All the doors opened before they arrived. Viewers were not allowed to touch anything and could only stay 15 minutes . They had to wear masks . We had to wear them too. Masks on for the house view . masks off for the garden . It is hard to gauge any feelings with a mask on. The first couple wanted room for a motorhome . We had that . Gabby stood proudly where their van could park up. The new norm is house viewing is a seriously strange thing under Covid 19. We need a holiday to get over the viewings .
