Life is good....very good. We are still at our rented cottage on Keuka Lake. Only a few more days to enjoy this easy living life we have accustomed to. Hope you have found yourselves relaxed and liking this experience. Its so much more fun knowing you are swimming right along with us. We heard your panicked screams as you entered the chilly water but once you immersed yourself, we heard your screams of joy. Yahoo. We found it easier floating around when the waves were calm....but we also liked the rocking sensation when they were flapping against us. The seas were angry that day, my friend! I havent decided which float I like the best....they are all good. Sailing,Sailing. Lulu has held back in getting the water. Shes a timid soul but she doesnt have a bathing suit and prefers not to be just a bobbing head in the water. Some may think she is a buoy. She hates getting water in her ears. Understandable.
Our family to see us and some have stayed over. Its been wonderful having them here. They seem to enjoy it as much as we are. Cory, Penny and Travis brought their
kayaks. They actually paddled all the way across the lake to the other side. Strong people. Travis topped that by paddling his kayak all the way to the end of the top of the lake at Branchport. Hes an for sure. Cory actually took his turn at kayaking. Hes much braver than me. I think hes ready to battle the Colorado River rapids. I was pleased by just taking my swim ring to the buoy (not Lulus head) beyond our dock....I thought that was a big deal....for me, it was. Applause, please. Thank you.
I think my many photos can show you the fun we have been having on this lake. Whoopee. Yippee. Yahoo!
Our grandson, Ryan, and his friends came by one afternoon with their boat. They took Cory and I for a marvelous boat ride on the lake. What a vantage point to see all, the exquisite homes and cottages along this lovely lake. Some actually have people elevators to bring the folks down the steep sides to their places....and we thought our dumbwaiter was a bid deal. Hah! We saw one place who had their pontoon plane parked next to their mansion house.
Jeepers. We enjoyed dinner together at The Switzerland restaurant. Makes us feel kind of young being around young people. Well, I didnt feel young anymore once we were back at our dock. It was a challenge for me to get into the boat (bad knees, remember). Well getting back out was even worse. As I tried to step onto the dock, both my knees gave way. There I was: a beached whale partially on the dock....flat on my butt! Thank God, there were strong men present to lift me up into a standing position or Id be seagull bait. Not a pretty picture! Im sure Ryan was mortified! Meet my grandmother: Bertha the Whale.
And what a great day we had when our good friends from our Tropical Palms resort contacted us and asked to get together.....absolutely. Jill & Bob were camped not too far from us so we met at The Switzerland restaurant on this lake. It was great being with them.....like being at Tropical Palms but with much different scenery. We shared what we knew about the doings at our RV resort...lots of catching up to do. It was so nice spending time with them. They are such
good people. Happy and safe travels to you both as you continue on your vacation journey. See you at TP in October.
Tonight, our grandson Ryan returned with his girlfriend, Amber, and two of their friends. They arrived by boat. It was so nice for them by. Amber and Ryan are expecting a baby next month and we are happy and excited for them. Our first great grandchild. Lulu cant wait....she wants to babysit. Their friends were a lovely couple. We hope they can return again before we have to leave this happy place.
Some of our family will be returning in a couple days to stay over and hopefully help us pack up our mountainous load of stuff we brought. We have used just about all of it, though.
