Tikona also known as Vitandgad) is the dominant hill fort in maval . It is located near pawna in tikona peth village around 70 km from pune and 120 km mumbai. The 3500 ft high hill is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means triangular.
the perimeter of the fort is not very big, you can see all the forts in an hour. After entering through the gate of the fort, turn left, after walking a short distance, across a water tank and a cave. The cave can 10 to 15 people. But the cave is unsuitable for living in the rainy season. The path leading up to the side of the cave leads directly to the entrance of Bale fort. The steps at the entrance are breathtaking. If there are water tanks on the right after entering through the door. The ramparts are visible on the left. Here are some water tanks. From here, turn around and take a straight path. This path takes you to some broken steps. Going up from here, there is a temple of Mahadev in front. There is a big moat behind the temple. After turning it, we reach the place of the flagpole.
