Last week with Aaron & Patrick our guides we visited Rockefeller Centre in New York to see the Christmas Tree.
For more than eight decades, the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has stood as a holiday beacon for New Yorkers and visitors alike. While the lights, decorations, and stars have changed through the years, visiting the Tree remains a quintessential New York experience & I was lucky to view it virtually.
In 2094 The first Swarovski Star adorned the top of the Tree in 2004. It featured 25,000 crystals and 1 million facets and was 9.5 feet in diameter. The following year, the addition of LED lights made the star look as if it were radiating light from its core to its tips.
In 2018 A new Swarovski Star, designed by famed architect Daniel Libeskind, adorned the Christmas Tree. The topper, backlit by LEDs, features 3 million dazzling Swarovski crystals across 70 triangular spikes.
Another tour was once again in New York to view all the festive lights in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn NYC.
the neighborhood in the 1980s. She decorates her house to to carry on the tradition her mother had started. At first her neighbours objected but it wasnt long before they all started to decorate their homes.
