For our third day in Dublin we decided to head to an area known as the Temple Bar which is a lively area filled with bars and other cultural establishments in the center of Dublin. While me and Uffe had certainly spent quite some time in pubs so far on this trip, this day would up that quite a few notches. We started our day in style with a couple of pints at the Oliver St. John Gogarty Bar, a beautiful bar and restaurant all clad in a bright green color that really felt Irish to me. It was a very lovely place but after a couple of pints we decided to continue on and went to the aptly named Temple Bar. There we met a really lovely Scottish couple. Mark and Leah, and with me having both Scottish heritage and a military background I hit it of really well with Mark who also had a military background. Along with us was an American girl and a Mexican guy but the two of them left together after a little while leaving us and the Scots to drink our livers into oblivion. While we were in that process we were joined by a couple of happy Canadians and the drinking continued without much pause. I can honestly say that I dont remember more than the occasional flash image. After a series off drinks, too numerous to count, the bar closed and we set out to find a club instead to continue our drinking binge. Unfortunately Mark and Leah left us here but together with the two Canadians me and Uffe continued drinking until early morning when the club also closed down. At the end of it all we somehow managed to stumble back to our hostel. How we found it in the days before google maps have no idea, but somehow we managed to pull it off. My next post will be about the following day which was a bus tour of Wicklow. Until then I wish you all peace and happy travels!
