We have been in a holding pattern at present here at Red Bay. Still waiting and hoping to get in soon at Bay Diesel for the second time. Otherwise, we will stay put until May 20th when we have a confirmed appointment. Pray that someone else cancels so we can get in early. Pray, Pray, Pray. Thank you. Time to take you around the area. Thursday evening we went to Swamp Johns restaurant for their fish buffet. It is one of our favorites. I even have a shirt from here. The place is rough. Its an older gas station garage that has been converted into a restaurant. The restoration has been quite limited. It still seems more like a gas station except for the few booths in the back section. Even there, its not classy. You dont have to dress casual! Like I said, its rough! They are known for their catfish.....and it is good! We met Chris Berry while there. Hes a former Tiffin employee that has branched out on his own. He is known for his excellent cabinetry making and other carpentry work. We have never had him but have seen photos of his work. He is very good. The cars line up for miles down the road to get their delivery from Swamps. They are that good. Back at our campground, I strolled across the back field to meet our neighbors: cows and bulls. Back home, we call the black and white cows Oreo cows. The black bulls are called black bulls. They didnt seem fierce. Lulu wanted to ride them but its tricky for her to straddle the cow or bull......you know why (no legs). Friday was window day. Remember I mentioned how we have four windows. Two were real bad, the others not as bad but would just get worse overtime. Around 10:00 AM, Curtis and Mark showed up at our RV. Last time we did this, Shane (son of Curtis) and his dad came. Shane does the windows at Tiffin. Well, this time it was the Dad and his ex Mark. Okay. They brought our windows that Cory had ordered and paid for. The biggest one, they carried on their cars roof with Mark holding it on through the sunroof.....oh, my. Fortunately, they didnt have far to drive. Everything started out fine. They got right to work. One window done and it was break time for these two workers. They smoked. Cory got out more chairs. I provided cookies while Cory got them coffee and water. We like been hospitable. Lulu just watched them from one of the fogged windows. Whew....break time was over and they did another window with just one more break during the process. They had difficulty chewing my cookies cause neither had any front teeth in their lower jar. But that didnt stop them from devouring them. Ok, Ok....now onto the third window. This one and the big one behind our sleeper couch proved to be a challenge. It required them to take about ten more breaks each. We learned about Marks 3 divorces....the first from Curtiss daughter. His last marriage was in a tattoo parlor. Have no idea where the reception was.....hope you didnt get a tattoo instead of a meal. Mark told us about his ailments. He said he presently has a clot in his lung but it doesnt bother him!!?? Said his blood pressure was 285/198 but now hes on B/P medication. Good Grief!! I truly was hesitant to want to do CPR on this rotund fellow. I checked his B/P. It was 148/98. It will do. Hours and hours passed. Once, Curtis needed a tool so took our car to the local Hardware store. Their car had our expensive windows balanced on them. Through the many remaining cigarette breaks, we learned how Curtiss wife left him for another man after 42 years. That was shocking until he pointed towards heaven....she had died! He took up with another gal but after 18 months, she took all his money and split. Now he has a pretty, blond lady who loves to do Karaoke. We had to see her photos and listen to a karaoke recording of her singing her first song to Curtis. We were exhausted. Lulu reluctantly posed with them....she had enough and went to bed for a nap.
