Continuing to enjoy the Heygo Virtual Tours garden festival tours, this afternoon it was the turn of Paris. One of the worlds foremost botanical gardens. Created in 1635 as a medicinal garden for Louis XIII, the Garden of Plants has been used throughout the centuries by botanists, doctors and pharmacists. Today we were able to enjoy just part of the 28 hectares. The perennial beds were full of colour, The Rose Garden was still showing plenty of blooms & The Alpine Garden was rather special creating an atmosphere of a secret garden. The beautiful are divided in different sections, each with a different topic hence different artificial climates and plant species. As we wandered around it was easy to forget that we were in the busy fifth district of Paris & just a short walk from the Latin Quarter.
