We tried birding in the Spanish Lagoon area just after 8 and were rewarded with TWO burrowing owls in the roped off area, and a new humming bird (not such a good photo though). Then off for a 2 hour drift snorkel at Mangel Halto – no ocean triggerfish or eels this time, but a large porcupine fish. Met a nice family who had done a portion of the drift and we were able to suggest the easier entrance further up.
We had lunch at Zee Rovers – a red snapper this time, yum, and plantains and pan bati, a sort of wadgey bread. Michel wasnt there.
One more visit to the Lagoon to see the little owl again, and met a young Dutch couple who was as keen as we were who gave us some suggestions for another day. We also discovered hundreds of land snails stuck on cactus and rocks.
Dinner was leftover leftovers – my seafood bits from Flying Fishbone and rice mixed in with the leftover rice from a previous curry, with added curry sauce.
Our hostess is a budding painter, and she intends to paint this Queen Angelfish David photographed....
