Last day in Budapest found us in a town outside of the city, a touristy town with a nice beach on the Danube river. Syentendre is a popular place to visit and it is all decked out in style. The shops offer handmade crafts and designer clothes and accessories. There is a museum about marzipan, which was created in this town. There are many other museums, e.g. one for wine, one for art. You could easily spend the day there. Later we had an authentic Hungarian meal at a riverside restaurant which was beside a small ferry taking cars across the Danube to an island where people lived. Such a relaxing location with good food. Then we returned to the city to tour one of the many limestone caves that exist below the city. I watched a 16 minute video in English about the creation and extent of the caves below Budapest. I have certainly learned alot during this trip, and I have a huge appreciation for the finer things in Budapest.
