The push and pull along with the give and take that dominated my travel calendar resulted the substitution of my time in Madrid, Spain for some spontaneous, freelance escapades in and around Barcelona, Spain; however, the abandonment of the Tangier/Gibraltar option between Marrakech, Morocco and Madrid offered me the opportunity to spend six days in Madrid before I met up with the folks participating in the Great Iberian Tour offered by Europamundo. As noted in my previous blog, I was the only registered passenger on the leg from Madrid to Lisbon and that instead of starting my tour in Madrid (Day 2), I would be taking a train to Seville (at Europamundos expense) on Wednesday (06/01) where I would spend the
night and join the rest of the group on Thursday (Day 3) to begin the tour in Seville instead of Madrid. In either scenario, Day 3 ends in Lisbon, Portugal.
TUE, 31 MAY 2022 – Day 1: Transfer to the hotel. My transfer arrived promptly, and we walked to a shiny black Mercedes Benz passenger van with three and three genuine leather seats.
