Yesterday we spent the entire day visiting with Nates family in Ohio. I truly had a great time, if we lived in Ohio, I think I would have some new family/friends to pal around with. We also started having troubles with the truck the last 2 days, Nates check engine light on. Luckily Nates uncle had a code scanner to check the code, they cleared the codes but unfortunately the next day the engine light came back on. Nate believes from the code he will have to replace the spark plugs, which is usually a simple job, but his truck has 16. Not a hard job but time consuming so he has a long workday ahead of him tomorrow once the spark in. Our new location has no mobile data access making it hard to stay in touch with family and friends. Also, hard to work and research truck issues, but the campground has great down at the game room, so we spent a good part of the day there. There is a heat wave in the area, and it is unbearably hot even for a girl from Florida. So, we waited until after dinner to go hiking. The doggies were so lucky because they could go with us on our hike today. Thankfully most of what we wanted to explore so far is just a close drive from the campground also making it easier to take the pups in case they get too muddy. We hiked to Ash Cave. The hike in was easy but the hike back out was a little more of a climb, overall, not a bad hike at all. The cave is large and open with a waterfall flowing over the edge. You can walk the entire way around the waterfall. It is much bigger than any other cave of its type we have been in so capturing its sheer size with a picture was near impossible. I found taking a panoramic shot seems to do the trick. After this we hiked to Cedar Falls. This hike was the opposite of the other climbing downstairs to the fall with an easy hike back up. Not too many hikers were around so we were able to let Chloe off leash for a bit, she always loves when she is able to run free, jumping from rock to rock, exploring, simply enjoying the great outdoors with freedom. Due to Mandys age and lack of wanting to listen we keep her on leash close by. Once down the stairs you walk along the shallow water from the fall, it is calm, peaceful, surrounded by a lush green forest, and tall cliffs. At this point the doggies were tired and thirsty and trying to drink from the creek, so I had to give up my water for the adorable little pups. Nate created a cup in his hands and the dogs drank most of the water I brought. We continued across the bridge and immediately arrived at the fall. Many were enjoying the cool water on this hot day. The fall from the top of the cliff like you typically see, but instead came from crevasses in the rock face with still much of the cliff itself towering above.
