Woke up this morning in my sisters apartment in Vancouver. Had a fresh shower and got dressed. She made us some coffee and were now getting things ready to go in the car and drive to Horseshoe Bay and the ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Gibsons, BC.
The ferry line up was fierce, but we had reservations so that made it better. Lots of traffic getting out of Vancouver over the Lions Gate Bridge, put us behind a wee tad, but we made it to Horseshoe Bay in time. We were loaded quickly onto the ferry and left only ten minutes late; not too bad.
I was hungry (time change still affecting me) so I opted for some breakfast. It was delicious. We walked around the boat a little bit and snooped in their gift shop (nothing super interesting) and then sat down for a bit. Then, it was time to get back to the car.
We drove over to see Dad at Christensen Village in Gibsons. We had to do the Covid screening and I underwent my first ever ‘rapid test with the notorious three foot long
We both passed and were ushered in to the lounge area of Dads cottage. He was having lunch just then, we were told, so we waited. I ended up snoozing a few minutes on his bed while we waited for him to finish.
Finally he was done. Dad was in good spirits. He loved that we were both there to see him. Big hugs all around. He wouldnt let go of me! Dad needed a shave, so I shaved him. He also needed a haircut, which we quickly rectified.
We took him out for some coffee and he scarfed down a raspberry muffin with streusel on top (Starbucks) along with about half a bag of Hawkins Cheesies I bought him! After about an hour had passed, we got him into the hairdressers for his haircut. He got a nice wash and cut. Looking fabulous!
After a good hour visit with Dad, it was time to get him back. We told him wed see him the next day, and Kristine and I headed to Sechelt to see Jeanne.
chicken with little round potatoes and some baby carrots for supper. We prepared and cooked them up and cracked open a bottle of wine too. A now Malbec we had made and bottled from a kit we bought - it wasnt too bad.
I was able to enjoy a nice cigar I had bought in Caanan, Maine on the trip, and sat out on the porch to enjoy it.
