Are you still there? We hope so. We are hoping that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Is it true, is it?? ❤️❤️ Weve been pretty sluggish in writing these blogs so theres a lot to catch you up on. Nothing super terribly exciting so dont get all hipped up. No need to get in chair and line up your preferred drinks. This will be easy reading cause we are living the easy life during this delightful summertime. ?? Summertime and the livin is easy! Fish are jumpin, And the cotton is high?? I love singing.just wish I could.
Our immediate routine, once we returned, was to go to funerals and dentists..neither of which was something we looked forward to. My good friend, Mary Kay, that I had morning coffee with for all the years we lived in Shongo (50 years), died. Mike, the brother of our Jim, also died. A sad time for many. Adding to the misery, we both went to our respective dentists..came out unscathed.fortunately.
Our days picked up when we drove to our son, Corys, house. Penny has had her true and now owns her own horse, Tucker. Hes beautiful.
At one time, I really wanted a horse but instead, we had our son, Tim. Be careful what you wish for. Tim was born 9 years after our son, Cory. Cory & Penny both seem so happy which, in turn, makes us so happy. Shenen (grandson) came up from N.C. and had a nice visit with his Dad. It was so good to see him again. I think he is so handsomemovie star handsome. Have you seen the series: Peaky Blinders? Thomas Shelbymaybe?
Our Jay, had his 60th birthday so their family gathered to celebrate this special occasion. We love these family gatherings. Our Henry & Luke, are so cute and growing so fast! Take a look! Dont you agree? Jay doesnt look any older than when he and Lory were married35 years ago this August! God, we must be older than dirt!
Lory had her monster size yard sale.an annual tradition. People wait and watch for it! Cory and I helped out a little bita very little bit but she handles it all with such organization and hard work..and it is so much work!! She was selling for nine different people so she really has
to have a good system. One of her friends, with stuff in her sale, was there to help out on the selling days.thank God! Sara was their scribe. It was a big success! Whew!
Every year we look forward to going to a MEGA (big) Chicken Barbecue. It is put on by a business (Hess Tire Service) that we use for our RV inspection, tires, etc. Hess (owned and run by the Mennonites) puts on this huge banquet in appreciation of their customers. Its awesome! It starts in the morning and goes until 7:00 pm. They must feed thousands of folks. Besides the delicious food (including homemade ice cream), they give away some terrific freebies. Lulu loved their free Their business is way up on top of one of our big hills..its always fun driving our RV there! Yeaha white knuckle trip. Its a great time seeing many of our friends and enjoying a delicious chicken BarBQ..plus huge doughnuts, hot dogs, coleslaw, baked beans, soda pop. After all that, I should have walked home!
Let the eating continue..why stop now? The hospital associated with our doctor puts on an annual Strawberry Festival. Of course, we were there
to help it out. OMG! The amount of strawberries and biscuits that they had prepared was ginormous! They could have fed all of Disneyworld! The shortcake was mighty tasty. They also had a health tent where they gave out their freebies. We stocked up in case we get sick. Soon we will be going to our doctor appointments. I think we are okayhope he thinks the same. Hell be impressed with Corys knee replacement.
We stopped at our local SPCA to make a donation. Of course, I had to check out the cats and kittens. They are well cared for here with wonderful surroundings. I couldnt look at the dogs.I would feel bad and think we had to rescue them all. Therefore, I just stay away. We topped off our day savoring one of our local favorites: funnel fries..to die for! We need to stay away from them, too.
