Piecing together the remnants of my original 2020 European trip (amalgamation of the travel vouchers that were issued when cash refunds were refused) proved more problematic than construction of the original trip, and numerous Plan Bs evolved. Such was the case with my journey from Spain to the Netherlands/Denmark area of Europe. Originally, my only time in France was a couple of days offered on an tour of several European countries, but Plan B found me with a tour of France and a interval between Madrid and Paris. This silver lining gave me an opportunity to spend some time in a city I have always found appealing, Barcelona, Spain. THU, 16 JUN 2022: Europamundo services came to an end when the Great Iberian Tour returned to Madrid towards the end of the day. Due to the late arrival, I booked one night at Hotel Santo Domingo in Madrid, where I had stayed before the Great Iberian Tour. However, I booked a second night to give me an opportunity to socialize with some of my to get some to pick up any loose ends (or newly discovered travel tidbits, as the case might be) in Madrid or to just plain relax. On Friday, I found the relaxation option beckoning but on Saturday I caught the train to Barcelona. Sunday was another day of relaxation and wandering the adjacent neighborhood for a tasty morsel day; however, Monday was an early alarm day for the The Original Three Countries in One Day: France, Andorra, Spain from Barcelona. This day trip was much more than I expected. We made a stop in France and got a guided tour of the village (along with some free time) and then travelled through Andorra from north to south, something I was not expecting. This made our final and longest stop in Andorra la Vella, Andorras capital. It was a long day but well worth the time, effort and cost.
