Dale and I are Olympic fans. We attended a couple of events of the 1986 summer Olympics in LA and several events at the 1988 winter Olympics in Calgary. We went to Paso Robles and saw the torch being carried, and one of the torch bearers let us hold the torch briefly. So, it was only fitting that we wanted to go to Olympia, the place of the original Olympics.
Before leaving for Greece, I tried to Read on...

Our adventure continues thru the Upper Peninsula to Tahquamenon Falls State Park. The Eagles and Dire Straits helped us cross the Eyre Peninsula today. We did not sleep well. It resulted in early rising and early departure; however, the overnight dew was extremely heavy resulting in the canvas being totally wet. We wiped down what we could reach and knew that packing a wet canvas would have repercussions on arrival. Our hands were freezing from the wiping.

Despite sections of stop/start traffic it was a pretty drive; lots of mountains, lots of sugar c Read on...

Left the hotel about 10am to go get tickets for the boys to see a show. I introduced them to the guy I had bought the tickets from the other day and they got a good deal.
We then walked all the way up 7th Ave to The Plaza for brunch only to find out they are closed. Zack lost a few brownie points there. We ended up at The Boathouse in Central Park. It was extremely busy but worth the walk and wai Read on...
The first botanical garden was set up by Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore and a keen naturalist, in 1822 on Government Hill at Fort Canning, mainly to introduce into cultivation economic crops. It closed in 1829 and, in 1859, at the present Tanglin site a new garden was developed by an Society, and later handed over to the government in 1874.
The gardens cover an area of 82 hectare Read on...
Here we are....fresh into a brand new year. We wish you all a healthy and happy year....and one with many good stories to tell.
We stayed pretty busy between Christmas and New Years. The park had a Christmas Eve golf cart parade. Many of us decorated our golf carts and drove together throughout the park. The person leading our parade must have thought we were at the Daytona Speedway. We tried kee Read on...
