We flew to LA today. WHY? Because apparently I like things to be difficult and Im cheap. Flights to LAX from SGF were $85 per person, we are staying at our (former) favorite hotel in LA this evening, and we have free flights to Seattle tomorrow morning. Cruise to Alaska leaves Seattle Sunday
So today. I as normal and walked the dog up the hill and back and we both had just decided to slow down Read on...
Colleen and Paul are staying at Fort Klamath. The campground at Crater Lake National Park, Mazama Campground, hasnt opened yet for the season. Unfortunately, that means the drive to see them (or their drive to see us) is a little over half an hour. Fortunately, they are staying at an adorable resort (Crater Lake Resort) with a lot of activities for families. It seemed like a great place to spend p Read on...
With all the Long Weekend Worriers, concerned about where to find a camp along Cobrams Little Toms Beach on the Mighty Murray River, Morningbird and Little flower did the noble thing and offered up our prime piece of camp real estate to the lucky ducks that were eyeing off our first class riverside camp. The eager camping buzzards were circling, so we high tailed it out of our serene riverside cam Read on...

My Spot:No offense to Sheldon of Big Bang Theory; BUT this is MY SPOT! Many days if warm, I walk down hill minutes and hang out in afternoon sun here on the cliffs east end of Albufeira or I go below to the beach area for an hour or two.
New AirBnb: See the pics on my new AirBNB next door to the one I had. Nice balcony view! Much smaller place and queen bed in the living room but I can handle th Read on...
Today Ive booked a full day tour to the Valley of the Temples and Scala dei Turchi, both of which are about two hours away near the town of Agrigento on Sicilys south coast. They do things a bit differently here in Sicily. Issy never had any intention of doing the tour but when I tried to book for one person I was told it was sold out, but if I booked for two, well no problem..?

We went over to the sheltered ocean opposite our place very early in the morning, like 7:15. Perhaps because they do not adopt daylight savings time, its amazingly light early. It was chilly to begin with in the ocean, but by the time we submerged it was the usual lovely temperature. Warmer than Hawaii had been in December/January. The reef is a fair swim off, in quite shallow water (6 ?) so for a Read on...
changed how I do everything, including Geocaching. We werent allowed to Geocache for a while and that was fine. I followed the rules. But when we were allowed to get out there again I took my 7 year old granddaughter Geocaching as she loves the challenge and is far better at it than I am. We decided to search for a Geocache which is not even showing on my map now. I have no idea why. We had to wa Read on...
On our second day in London our main target was The British Museum. This fabled collection has long haunted my imagination. From my two visits to the Parthenon, I well understood that I could not really envision the reality of the original Parthenon without seeing the marbles that formed the friezes and under the gables and pediments of that ancient shrine. The collection in London also includes o Read on...
I have not traveled to India since 1971. On that trip I remember seeing several programs of Indian dance. On Thursday, the Sattriya Dance Company of Philadelphia appeared with the Dancing Monks of Assam from India in a program sponsored by the Library of Congress. The program was presented at the Coolidge Auditorium under the auspices of the performance series Homegrown: The Music of America Conce Read on...
