Ahh Somerset youve been duded! Even though the 2 Moors Way crosses from Devon into Somerset on several occasions its only ever known as the Dorset Coast to Coast. Sure it starts and finishes at the coast in Devon but to not acknowledge our in Somerset does seem a bit parochial. Anyway Im here in Somerset having walked most of the 2 Moors Way and having met up with Lee. Thats pretty close to 600 k Read on...
We dont know whether you are aware but a new volcano - Fagradalsfjall - broke out in the South western peninsula of Iceland in March this year. Some of the photos on the web have been pretty spectacular, with tourists standing within just a few feet of slowly spreading lava, and not surprisingly it has quite a tourist draw. We were aware of the volcano when we booked and were hopeful that there w Read on...
We left the house around 7am for the long drive down to Florida. This was our first trip ever with our little terrier mix dog. He was so excited to get to go with us, he ran to the car and wouldnt even go to the bathroom before we left for fear of us leaving him. He is a very good traveler. Im sure he was confused that the car just kept going and going and never reaching its destination. He had ne Read on...
The last time I was in Sheffield in a travel blogging sense, it was an ode to Heaven 17. The Other Half was reliving her youth and we were at the O2 to see Glen Gregory et al, blasting out the the full Luxury Gap album. Temptation indeed. She was on a roll, after doing the Penthouse & Pavement tour 2 years previously. It seems only fair then that the title of this blog goes to their musical neighb Read on...

As adventurous as I think I am, I wonder, in times of this pandemic, highly skeptical about going somewhere I have never heard of. And worse, what is their vaccination status, and quality of health care? I like the idea of going someplace new and different. But to point to some country I have never heard of seems to tempt fa Read on...

First thing today we made our way down to the Tourist Info Centre and had a very entertaining guide tell us all about the Greater Bilby. Charleville is home to the largest bilby breeding program in Queensland. There was a nocturnal viewing area where we could see 1 male and 2 female bilbies running around their very well simulated desert environment. Currawinya National Park (south of Cunnamulla) Read on...

Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth. – Henry David Thoreau A splendid stay at Sirheni Bush Camp duly ended and, all that was left, was a slow drive up the R56 to Punda Maria, the final stop on this expedition through Kruger. The name Punda Maria is a little out of step with all other Kruger camp Read on...
We planned to visit Padstow by bus on 21st September. The hotelier also said good things about the bus. Mark had checked the bus timetable and we were to take the bus from near our hotel. I had written postcards for two people in Japan; we went to the post office before catching the bus. I was a little surprised that postage fees have been risen quite a lot. We took the 10:39 open Decker bus for Read on...
