A glorious blue sky greeted us this morning. Not sure how long this lovely weather can hold out as there are reports of quite a lot of rain about but will make the most of what we have.
Got on our way a little earlier as the triathlon cyclists were clearing the road outside the campsite by 10am. We headed for the Langemer lake just up the road and found a handy parking spot so we could wander to Read on...
This blog covers Days 2 and 3 of our trip to the far south of Tasmania to celebrate our 15th Anniversary.
I absolutely loved waking up and taking in the early morning view of the misty Huon River from our attic bedroom window. It was like looking into an painting. It was a very special and beautiful start to our 15th Anniversary. By the time we had a quick breakfast and got going, the light had Read on...
Today were going to Hanauma Bay – basically a drowned crater full of coral reef and exotic fish. Its not easy (or cheap – at $25 a head) to obtain tickets; theres a strict quota with tickets going on sale at 7 am each morning and selling out in minutes. We have managed to score some tickets for this morning. To reduce pollution, they have withdrawn the bus route which used to service the reser Read on...
I first arrived at Guatemala City airport from New York, not sure what to expect or do when I arrived. It was initially a bit confusing with regards to lines for checking your PCR test result and passport before officially going through immigration. Not sure what that was all about. After leaving immigration, there were two stands I was already looking for: Money and SIM card. The SIM card was eas Read on...
Depending on what you want to do in Buffalo, it can take anywhere from a day to a week to see everything. I found some great architectural sights, amazing food, and opportunities to relax and watch the world go by during my 3 days in town. My main purpose this time was to see my beloved Toronto Blue Jays play an entire weekend series at their home away from home, Sahlen Field. But as a lover of tr Read on...
American Airlines couldnt find people hotels and also couldnt reschedule flights, so we were stranded in the middle of the night at the airport for a few hours.
Flight cancellations have been surging around the country due to weather and the omicron variant hitting so fast. We suffered a flight cancelation, too, but it was due to maintenance issues. Because so many people have faced cancelations Read on...

We later caught the Springdale town shuttle from the front of the hotel down to the Zion NP entrance. Its Satur Read on...
I wanted to do something fun so I decided to find some ghost towns in Northern Cherokee County, Texas. I drove Texas Hwy 204 into Cherokee County. There was a half mile where Texas Highways 235 & 2274 overlapped where I found the Historic Marker for Lone Star ghost town. Right by the marker was the Lone Star Ranch.
I circled around to Cherokee County Road 4601 and found Myrtle Springs Cemetery fo Read on...
Our at The Citadel in Budapest high above the city & the Danube River on top of Gellert Hill. To the left Buda and to the right Pest.
The Citadel is a 19th century fortress of about 220 metres long, 60 metres wide, and 4 metres tall, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site, the fortress was turned into a lookout tower / stronghold.
We took in the magnificent views and then stopped at the Statue Read on...
Our starting intention was to visit the Strait of Hormuz off the tip of Oman. We had the plan of visiting Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman.
We set off at 7:30 and drove along the route I am now familiar with through Sharjah. Leaving the city behind, we travelled past ordinary concrete, buildings interspersed with sand held (for the most part) by low bushes and clumped grasses. There hasnt been any Read on...
