Today, lets learn about some of our favorite adult beverages, kind of my version of a public service announcrment. India Pale Ales — better known as IPAs — were not brewed in India. In fact, back when this kind of beer was invented in the 1700s, brewers didnt have a good way to brew beer in such a hot climate. Super day out today. Apologies for rather a lot of photos but we went to so many super places its too hard to chose what to show here so ended up with an overload.
I highlighted Issigeac on the map as yesterday as a lovely village to visit though it is most famed for a superb Sunday market and this was not Sunday. Then circled 2 more places along the route and off we went.

16km north of Patea and 12 km south of Hawera is a rest area at the bottom of the Manawapou Hill. To the left of the rest area is a locked farm gate with a stile next to it. Climb over the stile and you will find yourself on the old Ingahape Rd which closed many years ago, but is still sealed so is perfect for walking on. Follow it for 1km and you will arrive at the Manawapou Viaduct.

We left for Ronda late in the morning, intending to stop at Zahara de la Sierra for a while first. At about 11:30am, we saw Zahara, across a large lake, clinging to a hillside. Spanish towns are quite often built on hillsides, but this one on a hill and with a large lake at the bottom. We pulled over on the other side of the bridge to take some photos, then again just after we reached the foot of Read on...

We park near a large outdoor market. Mark buys a hat and I buy some handmade soap. We buy a museum pass and visit the Les Arenes (colosseum). The colosseum holds 12,000 spectators. We are not able to enter the colosseum be Read on...
